Robert J. Gerberg Jr. and his Paradigm about Career and Self-Growth

Some people are lucky to know what they want in life since they were young. These people are bound to travel that road since they have set their eyes on them. However, there are still a few people who, even after college, are still confused about what career path to embark on. This is the reason why some people who have stable and high-paying jobs still find themselves in a middle of a personal turmoil, and eventually taking career changes way past beyond their quarter-life.

According to Advanced Career Technologies CEO Robert J. Gerberg Jr., if a person takes a shallow perception of one’s self and what that person can do, chances are, you might be making a mistake on your career choice. If a person only sees himself in a single profession or field, he might be building walls on himself and he will not be able to outsource or explore the possibilities that there might be some jobs or abilities that he is also good in doing. Being a generalist at times can be a good thing. Because you are giving yourself a wider spectrum to see through yourself and assess your knowledge, skills and talent and put them together in order to arrive with the best thing that you can do.

One must also consider that some people who has more than one job to focus on yet they are quite successful. The combinations are out there, a person can be a broadcaster and a politician at the same time, or a doctor and a businessman as well. Take Tyra Banks, she is a supermodel, a TV host for a program focusing on women empowerment, a record producer/singer and also the CEO of her self-founded production house, Bankable Productions. She does it all. There are a lot of ways to express your specialization without compromising yourself to a single job only.

However, if you find yourself stuck in a middle of a profession that you thought you like at first but ended up struggling yourself out of it, move. It is never too late to pursue what you really want. Time is of the essence, so even though it is such a scratched up and overused cliché, you should always follow your heart.

Career-expert Robert J. Gerberg Jr., also added that you should also consider financial growth and stability. If you are working on a job that is threatening your path towards being financially stable yet you like your job though it does not pay much, you can search for other alternatives and divide your time so that you can still be in the job you are passionate about but does not pay much and have a lucrative job at the same time.

Finally, Robert J. Gerberg Jr. stressed that as you take yourself on a soul-searching trip towards what you really want in life, you must consider your goals, expertise, skills, experiences, interests and skills.
